Dr. phil. Emil Otto Hellmuth Kieffer〔In German a Doctor of Philosophy is abbreviated as Dr. phil. (''doctor philosophiae'').〕 (9 April 1899 – 13 March 1985) was a Korvettenkapitän of the Reserves with the Kriegsmarine during World War II and a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross.
